HVAC Refrigerants FAQs
Find answers to common questions about our HVAC Refrigerants collection.
1 Which refrigerant should I order for a residential split system?
Check the outdoor unit nameplate for the exact designation. Freonwell lists R22, R410A, R32 and R454B among its HVAC options, but the correct choice depends on your particular equipment.
2 Can I use one refrigerant for all my service jobs?
No. Different systems require different refrigerants, charging procedures and often different fittings or safety-rated tools. Keep cylinders clearly identified and never mix contents.
3 What does A2L mean on R32 or R454B?
A2L is a lower-flammability refrigerant classification. Systems and service tools must be designed for the refrigerant and follow applicable ventilation, ignition-source and leak-management requirements.
4 Is R438A MO99 a drop-in replacement for every R22 unit?
No. It may be an option in some properly evaluated R22 retrofits, but compatibility, oil, seals, controls and performance must be reviewed under approved retrofit instructions.
5 Do you sell contractor-sized HVAC cylinders?
Freonwell offers multiple sizes, including small service containers and larger cylinders such as 25 lb R410A and 30 lb R22. Compare the live product net fills and availability.
6 Can I use my old manifold gauge with R410A?
Only if the manifold, hoses and fittings are specifically rated for the pressure and refrigerant. Check the tool manufacturer information before connecting any cylinder.
7 Where does my HVAC refrigerant order ship from?
Freonwell advertises dispatch from its U.S. warehouse, generally within 24 business hours. Tracking is provided after dispatch, and the first carrier scan may take additional time.
8 Can my HVAC company request bulk pricing?
Yes. Send the exact refrigerant, cylinder size, quantity, destination ZIP code and requested delivery date to support@freonwell.com for a confirmed quote.
