1 Is R404A right for my walk-in freezer?
Only if the equipment is specified for R404A. Check the condensing unit's data plate and service manual; freezer temperature alone does not identify the refrigerant.
2 Can I use R448A instead of R404A without modifications?
Not as a simple top-off. R448A and R449A may be considered for certain approved retrofits, but valves, controls, oil and operating conditions must be evaluated by a qualified technician.
3 What R404A sizes do you sell?
Freonwell lists 24 lb R404A and smaller options such as 5 lb and 1.5 lb. Check each product page for current availability and net fill.
4 Can I mix R404A with R507A or R407A?
No. These are different refrigerants. Mixing can compromise operation, recovery and future servicing; follow approved retrofit instructions instead.
5 Does 24 lb mean refrigerant only?
Yes, the 24 lb designation refers to net refrigerant contents. The steel cylinder, valve and carton increase the gross shipment weight.
6 Is R404A suitable for an ice machine or refrigerated truck?
Some equipment uses R404A, but not all. Verify the exact manufacturer's refrigerant designation before ordering.
7 How much is R404A shipping?
Freonwell currently lists $30 per cylinder, generally dispatching from the U.S. within 24 business hours. Use the ZIP checker for an estimated delivery date; transit is not guaranteed.
8 What if the R404A valve arrives damaged?
Do not connect or repair a suspect cylinder. Follow the Safety Data Sheet and send support your order number and photos of the valve, label, carton and damage. Wait for authorized instructions.
